If you’re not yet a member and you’re an artist who would like to be considered, become an Artspace member today.
Artspace is dedicated to presenting new work from contemporary artists working in a variety of disciplines, and strives to present art that reflects and promotes the diversity of contemporary art practices. Proposals from members who are emerging, mid-career, and established artists whose works are alternative, experimental and/or critically engaged are welcome.
Artspace invites its membership to submit artworks for consideration in a juried group exhibition that will launch the artist-run centre’s 2026 season. If you’re not yet a member, and you’re an artist who would like to be considered, you can join Artspace now.
Selected works will resonate with the centre’s commitment to nurturing the development and presentation of new work from artists of all disciplines. They will also reflect the theme of belonging, and of the hope for meaningful dialogue and community engagement.
Please note, all submissions are required to be made using the online submission platform linked below. An artist may submit up to three works for consideration. Each submission must be made individually. Mailed submissions will not be accepted.
Artspace will be providing installation, insurance, promotion, and documentation of this exhibition, and is committed to paying participating artists according to the guidelines established by CAR/FAC (Canadian Artists’ Representation/Les Fronts des Artistes Canadiens).

In keeping with our commitments to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, we encourage proposals from artists and curators from groups that have been historically underrepresented in Artspace’s programming, including but not limited to Black, Indigenous, Persons of Colour, migrant, 2SLGNTQIA+, disabled, and/or low income artists.
Artspace, a settler-founded and led organization, acknowledges its presence on Michi Saagig Mississauga Anishinaabeg land, known as Nogojiwanong by some and Peterborough by others. This territory falls under Treaty 20, signed in 1818, and the Williams Treaties of 1923, involving the seven Anishinaabeg communities of Alderville, Beausoleil, Curve Lake, Georgina Island, Hiawatha, Scugog Island, and Rama. We also recognize the significance of the Alderville litigation of 2018, which underscores the ongoing discussions around land rights, sovereignty, and the failure of a colonial government to honour the original spirit and intention of the treaties.
This land acknowledgement is a living document that we will continually revisit and reflect upon. We acknowledge that we have a responsibility to honour and respect the grounds on which we are privileged to gather in the pursuit of art appreciation. We hold a deep commitment to upholding Michi Saagiig Mississauga teachings about the Earth and our relations. It is essential to us to walk in partnership and collaboration with the sovereign First Nations. We do this in the spirit of reconciliation, collaboration, and artistic creation, as we collectively move forward on this shared journey.
